Karawanken jsou m\u00e1lo rozvinut\u00e9, p\u0159\u00edrodn\u00ed hory - t\u00e9m\u011b\u0159 zde nejsou \u017e\u00e1dn\u00e9 lanovky nebo panoramatick\u00e9 silnice - ide\u00e1ln\u00ed pro vzru\u0161uj\u00edc\u00ed, osam\u011bl\u00e9 horsk\u00e9 t\u00fary. V bl\u00edzkosti se nach\u00e1z\u00ed tak\u00e9 m\u00edrn\u00e9 poho\u0159\u00ed Nockberge, kter\u00e9 nab\u00edz\u00ed zcela jin\u00e9 mo\u017enosti v\u00fdlet\u016f. O 22 km d\u00e1l se nach\u00e1z\u00ed Triglav (2864 m, Julsk\u00e9 Alpy) a nedaleko odtud dal\u0161\u00ed zaj\u00edmav\u00fd vrchol, Mangart (2677 m, Julsk\u00e9 Alpy).
