Our campground is a great starting point for rock climbing, mountain biking (lake.bike basecamp), hiking, via ferrata, and other adventures right from your tent.

restaurant

At our restaurant, our experienced kitchen team creates a colorful selection of international, Asian, and Carinthian specialties, all freshly prepared using local ingredients. The experience is rounded out with our own products—such as schnapps, apple juice, cider, and jam.

Lake Faaker See is the star of the show—perfect for swimming and all kinds of gentle water sports. Turquoise, warm, manageable in size, and extremely clean—and great for swimming from May through mid-October. And you can enjoy the lake right from your tent via our long, gently sloping beach.

We love everything there is to do in the mountains, and with the “highlife” Alpine School, we have a mountain school right here on site.

Riparian Forest, Lake & Mountain.

We have 500 large, century-old trees here. In addition to these venerable native trees, there are also plenty of animals. The trees provide us with shade and create cool nooks and spots for you campers.

We're a campground with retro charm, without designated sites that have rigid boundaries. Plus, you'll have all the amenities you need: electricity everywhere, two restroom buildings, free Wi-Fi, a lounge, and more...

Sustainability...

Sustainability is an absolute necessity. And we're taking care of it.

You can read all about our solar power system, sponge camping, and a little piece of primeval forest on Lake Faaker See here.

We're probably the only campground with its own sports club. The famous triathlete Dr. Hermann Aschwer (Mr. Ironman ;)) is the driving force behind and president of the club and our sports program—which is tailored to all skill levels.

Every guest receives the truly fantastic, free experience card. With it, you can take part in exciting guided tours, enjoy free admission to the Kärntentherme starting at 5:00 p.m., marvel at the wonderful citrus garden, and use the buses to Villach and the S-Bahn throughout Carinthia for free.

Camping from April through November

We're open for a very long time—from April through the first week of November. That's 8 months. And every month in the lakeside forest at Lake Faaker See has its own beauty and unique features.

Dog in the riverside forest

Dogs are welcome here (even in the restaurant)—we have one ourselves: our Balu. Starting from the campground, there are wonderful walking and biking trails, perfect for you and your dog. Only the water lovers among your four-legged friends will have to go a little farther to take a dip. Unfortunately, dogs aren’t allowed on the beach here—not even our Balu. However, there are a few places nearby where you can get to the water, so even dogs who love to swim can enjoy their vacation.

We look forward to welcoming you soon.
