This mountain chain connects us with Slovenia (only 5 km as the crow flies) and a little further west with Italy. The Karawanken are little developed, natural mountains - there are hardly any cable cars or panoramic roads - perfect for exciting, lonely mountain tours. The gentle Nockberge mountains are also close by and offer completely different tour options. 22km away is the Triglav (2864m, Julian Alps) and not much further is the next exciting mountain peak, the Mangart (2677m Julian Alps). Do the same ;-).<\/p><p>The Alpe Adria Trail (long-distance hiking trail to the sea) also leads past us.
