Moments 2025
Rearview Mirror
Here's our look back - without judgment, but with lots of memories of the year 2025.

Clemens
We start with some good news: Clemens, our groundsman with a flair for all things practical, has passed his driving test. Congratulations - well done!

Nomination.
We have been nominated for the “mein Kristall-der Faaker See Award” with our sponge city project (planted seepage areas with a special structure into which rainwater seeps away decentrally).
Pink 200
In June, we hosted the Rosa 200 took place. An idea from “Lissi” Mikl – implemented with energy, structure and passion. A race that isn’t really a race: relaxed, with Italian flair, a Carinthian touch and a dose of lakeside atmosphere.
Heatwave and climate change
Also in June: a heatwave that was almost frightening. Several days above 35 degrees, Lake Faak set a new temperature record of 29.5 degrees. Nice for a swim – but you can tell that something is changing.
In August we were visited by Gerhard Hohenwarter – alpinist, meteorologist and someone who observes these developments very closely. In front of a large audience, he showed temperature curves, talked about climate change, dry summers and the fact that action is still possible – if we don’t wait.
Beach church day
In October, we celebrated our first beach church day. With handmade music, good food from Siegfried Payrer and a relaxed atmosphere by the lake. That was great – and will certainly be continued.
Apple juice & more
After a bumper apple harvest, we were finally able to press our own apple juice again.
Buy regionally
Hansi’sZirbenlimo and fresh vegetables from the Tonder organic farm were new additions.
Our restaurant remains true to its line: we shop within a radius of around 200 kilometers. This ensures short distances and fresh ingredients.
ÖZIV certification
We are delighted about the renewed ÖZIV certification – for us, being barrier-free is simply part of it. And by the way, many beautiful photos were taken in the process.
Bulkheads at the campsite!
Things went international in September: for the European Bike Week Gordon Murray Loy played an atmospheric concert right on the square. A little later, Danny MacAskill, the world-famous Scottish trial biker, made a guest appearance – including the Bucketride Festival in the riverside forest. Two great days with lots of enthusiasm.
Triathlet:innen at the lake
Our lake remains a meeting place for triathlon enthusiasts – not least thanks to Hermann Aschwer, but certainly also because of the good training conditions all around. Particularly noteworthy this year: Jan Pintarič from our kitchen crew took part in the Ironman, and two protégés from our program competed in the Ironman Hawaii – Maite Farin and Marketa Heuptel. Congratulations also to Lisa Perterer, who trains here regularly.
2025 was warm, lively and full of stories. Thank you to everyone who helped write a piece of it. Here’s to a good 2026!
